Hold on to your panties, this one's gonna be a long one.
Life
Work
Well, I really like my job, not going to lie. As in, I like what I do. I like that I don't have to deal with customers and those who I do see on a daily basis are pleasant and fun to be around. I also enjoy learning new things and seeing how surgical instrumentation work is pretty neat. My work isn't extremely labor intensive and if I don't know something, it's not frowned upon if I look in books to verify my answer.
Seems all fun and dandy, right? Well it would, except for the fact that the surgery department boss is kind of.. not good. Not good meaning she's been in the same position for 5 years and still doesn't know how vacation hours work...
Not good meaning she would rather have a spiffy bonus check by cutting our hours to meet.. some flooky productivity needs, and pissing LOTS of workers off. Not good meaning she would rather rush us and have us fuck up and get off the clock than make sure we're doing our jobs correctly. Which pisses me off. Actually, it pisses a lot of us off. Everyone has had a loved one in a hospital, and those who I work with have been in a hospital themselves because of surgery, and they take pride in their work; their jobs being preventing infection by sterlizing equipment. Yeah, we're a tiny department most overlook, but without us the zombie apocalypse would have already started and I KNOW a lot of people who just aren't prepared for that yet.
Long story short, because of this Productivity issue, I haven't had a 40 hour week (I'm full time, supposedly) in about a month and a half. Yet eveerrryyy other department in the hospital has no problem getting their hours. Hell, our sister hospital's surgery departments have no problem gettin all their hours, and here we are, expected to perform for just about free. No, fuck you.
It's either infection control or a big money check. You can't have both. I'm sure you can spare some vacation time from your every other week escapes.
As soon as I get certified, if this BS continues, I'll transfer elsewhere.
Apartment
Let's just say, I don't think I'll ever be moving into a house.
Since we've kicked our roomate out, we've baisically had to start from scratch. We had a futon frame, a mattress, and a dresser as all our furniture when we started. A jillion dollars later, we've added a bookcase, a fancy shmancy desk (SO NICE.), a sofa, and a TV stand. We're waiting on a couple of chairs in the mail. We have absolutely NO idea how we're going to set everything up. Not only are we both completely indecisive people, we are both visual artists. Every little thing we put into this place will have to look aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
We are going for a mid-century look with Pin Up as reocurring theme. I plan on making several pin ups to hang.. just about everywhere and HOPEFULLY inspire the man to take some shots of.. someone. Anyone. XD
It's kind of fun and draining at the same time. I think this would be fixed if I had more money. XD
School
Got my Ohio driver's license today, finally. One of the many steps needed to get back into school. There's a lot of paperwork to do and copies of crap I gotta make to get the ball rolling for in state tuition. The plan is to go back Winter Quarter. I will only be going part time, because I already have a hard time finding the time to art. DX
Art
Apartment Pin Ups!
I have sooo many ideas, I will be littering my blog with sketches, doodles, and hopefully line arts within the next few weeks. There will be some totally original characters, favorite characters, possibly SGs, actresses... sooooo much to draw! ....So little time, _UGH.
Other Art Projects
I'll also be working on art for just about all my loved ones. This furniture thing is draining the bank, and I don't think I'll have much for Christmas gifts... SO DEAL WITH MY SCRIBBLES FAMILY.
...Hmm. This wasn't as informing as I thought it would be. I apperantly was just not in the mood to write =X
